Cecilia "Layne" Pearson

Graveside service for Cecilia "Layne" Pearson of West Monroe, LA. will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Hasley Cemetery pavilion with Bro. Lance Mulhearn officiating.

Layne was born November 26, 1947 and passed from this life September 16, 2026 at the age of 78.

Layne found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially sitting down for a good game of dominoes. A prolific and gifted writer, she had a special way with words, using them to share her thoughts, memories, and experiences with those around her. Her writing reflected a life filled with stories worth telling and moments worth remembering.

Above all else, Layne was deeply loved by her family and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence, her words, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though she will be greatly missed, the story of her life will continue to be told through the love she shared and the lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Arlene Mulhearn; two daughters, Lisa Pearson, Brandi Pearson, and one grandson, Caden Lane McVay.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Jack Mulhearn (Julie), Marilyn Watkins (Terry), Jerry Mulhearn, Jay Mulhearn (Laura); grandson, Jase Mulhearn, also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
