Charles “Bo” Edward Strange, Sr., age 80, of West Monroe, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. Born June 8, 1945.
Bo was joyful, full of personality, and impossible to forget. Whether through business, church, family gatherings, or his famous “magic carpet” television commercials, he brought laughter and energy everywhere he went. If you asked how he was doing, his answer was always, “Everyday’s like Christmas.” He loved people deeply and was known for his nightly phone calls just to say “I love you,” to check on you, or tell a story — always calling everyone “baby” or “darling.”
For 50 years, Bo owned Strange Wholesale Carpet and Vinyl, becoming well known throughout the community for both his business and larger-than-life personality. His family lovingly says he has now taken his final “magic carpet ride.”
Bo was of the Pentecostal faith and attended The ARC, also known as Jesus Only Apostolic Church and Living Way Apostolic. Though life led him down many paths, the prayers of his mama and the faith instilled in him as a child remained with him throughout his life and in his later years, he found his way back to the church that had always remained close to his heart.
Above all, Bo loved his family. Some of his happiest years were spent at his son and daughter n laws house — sitting in his rocking chair watching the birds,— at his sisters house playing dominoes with family, and always planning his next cruise adventure.
Welcoming him home to Heaven were his parents, E.J. and Freda Strange; his granddaughter, Lyndsi Sullivan; his prayerful brother-n-law, Kenny Chilton and his lifelong friend, Rev. George Guy (Rabbi)
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted children: Kimber Strange Ogden (Chris), Tanya Renea Barry (Mike), Charles E. “Chuck” Strange, Jr. (Melissa), and Melody Strange Sullivan; his beloved godchildren: Shaina Frost (Brad), Kelsey Bond (Corey), Hayden Robinson, and Ian Robinson (Melanie);
He was deeply loved by his siblings: Glen Strange, Carol Kerrigan (Willie), Janice Chilton, Frances Ballance (Bo), and Glen Robinson (Tammy), whom he loved as a brother.
He also leaves behind numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of a great-great-grandchild.
Those honored to serve are Dustin Murphy Strange, Charles Strange, III (Tres), Levi Sullivan, Seth Hanchey Ogden, Hayden Robinson, and Ian Robinson.
