Donald "Greg" Rayner

Funeral service celebrating the life of Donald “Greg” Rayner of Chatham, LA. will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 17, 2026 at Amazing Grace Worship Center with Pastor, Artie Beebe officiating. 

Family will receive friends for visitation 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the church.

Greg was born July 2, 1961, and passed from this life August 14, 2026, at the age of 65.

Greg was one in a million, the life of the party. If he knew you, you had a friend for life that would do absolutely anything for you.

He was a simple man with a heart of gold; He was convinced his “baby” hung the moon and could do absolutely everything. He was the absolute best dad, pops, and community vet that there was.

There are not enough time or words to paint the picture of the man he was.

The world lost the best part of it when Greg departed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, VA and Marlene Rayer, nephew, Chris Springfield, and brother-in-law, Wayne Griffin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, just short of 30 years, Ann Rayner; children, Thad Rayner, Tara Head (Jay), Tess Rayner, Tori Rayner and Tret Rayner, all from Chatham, LA.; adopted son, Carlos Rowland; grandchildren, Dalton, Della, and Memphis and soon to be grandson that he was so anxious to meet, Sawyer; two sisters, Deborah Springfield (Irvin) of Rayville, LA. and Marilyn Griffin of Mer Rouge, LA.; mother in law who he thought of as his mom, Barbara Butler and sister in laws, Denise Hines (Rodney) and Bobbie Finley (Joe); also survived by a host of nieces, nephews that he loved dearly.

Pallbearers serving are, Tret Rayner, Jay Head, Rodney Hines, Joe Finley, Anthony Finley, Carlos Rowland, Roger Trulove, and Matt Eubanks.
