Graveside service for James “Bubba” Garsee Sr. of Rayville, LA. will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Halls-Rhymes Cemetery, Rayville, LA. under the direction of Heaven Bound Funeral Home.
James was born on February 15, 1953, and passed from this life on June 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Bubba was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing.
Whether he was in the woods at daybreak or casting a line on the water, he felt most at home enjoying God's creation. He was known for his hardworking nature, friendly spirit, and the many stories he shared with family and friends.
James treasured the simple pleasures of life and the time spent with those he loved most. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and were blessed by his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mae Garsee; two sisters, Shirley Coates and Connie Garsee.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, James Melvin, Jr. (Sheila) and Chris Garsee; daughter, Christy Garsee Davis; sisters, Effie Anding and Mary Rowland; one brother, Dennis Garsee (Lori); grandchildren, Ethan and Joseph Garsee and Ryan and Robert Davis; also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
