Rickey Talton Caskey, Sr.

Rickey Talton Caskey, Sr., age 72, was born in Alabama on March 2, 1953 and later made Simsboro his home. He passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2025, following a period of declining health.

Rickey was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a true friend to many. He had a deep love for dirt track racing, NASCAR, riding his motorcycle, and music, often sharing that love through playing his guitar. Most of all, Rickey cherished time spent with his family and friends. Those who knew him well will fondly remember that he was rarely seen without a Coke in his hand.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Susan Hartley Caskey; his children, Sandie George and husband Ian, Christy Caskey Batterton and husband Donld, Dawn Caskey, and Rickey Talton Caskey Jr.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Bailie Cochran, Kaytlin Caskey, Wade Caskey, Rickie Caskey, Jewel Caskey, Jasmine Norman, Christopher Shane Martin, Hayle Houck, Aubrey Martin and wife Cassidy, Rudy Martin, Forrest and wife Jesseca.

Rickey was blessed with great-grandchildren: Elizabeth (Lyza) Martin, Liam Houck, and Andrew Houck.

He is also survived by his special niece, Tracy Caskey; his best friend, Kenny Harvey; along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends who will miss him dearly. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, James Alva Caskey and Addie Mae (McMillan) Caskey, and his brothers, Jr. Caskey and Robert “Bobby” Caskey.

Rickey’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories held close by all who knew him.
